After falling for its coastal charms in 1947, a prince spurred the transformation of the small fishing village of Marbella into a famed destination for Europe’s rich and famous; a thriving playground for the discerning glitterati. Over the years, this has given the Andalusian town a character of beautiful contrasts. From the design details to the thoughtfully curated experiences, Candela captures its many facets for a new generation of jetsetters to explore. Our hotel encourages guests to experience the luxury of not being rushed, tranquil spaces invite you to linger a little longer over a lunch of local delicacies, to soak in the blue skies and Andalusian scents of orange and rosemary by one of the pools, to stroll through the gardens as twilight descends. And while every detail has been chosen to bring in the history and personality of the region, from the Moorish design touches to the workshops on local crafts, our strong ties to Marbella and the glamorous heydays ensure we always have a suggestion for how to experience this other, more glamorous, side.
